Big milestones this week. We started him on cereal last Thursday. It seems like he loves his milk now. Either that or he’s just really hungry every time. He also flipped over on his own yesterday – that’s right 5 months and 1 day later he flipped on his own. Last week we saw that when we put him on his tummy he flipped on his back, but yesterday he flipped from his back to his belly. My mom and I were in the kitchen cooking (yes, she’s visiting this week. His last care giver before daycare) and I checked on him a couple of times because he was in the living room. He was doing what he usually does – watching TV and playing with his toy. The next time I went to check on him, he was on his belly. I was so shocked and surprised that I called my mom and he heard the commotion and got excited. He started laughing.

Week 21
What a week. He’s such a funny little man. I seriously wonder what’s going thru his head sometimes. He had another growth last week and almost completely stopped spitting up. He’s so much more active now. We took a weekend trip to Boston and this is what he did:
Yes, can you believe it? The one weekend when we leave him alone, he goes and rolls over like that. He hasn’t officially rolled over from his back to belly yet but belly to back is done. It was the first weekend where we left him for more than one night. Since he was one we have left him with our parents for a night here or there, but never for 2 nights. It was so crazy because when I woke up on Saturday, I almost canceled the trip. I thought to myself, “who can leave him?!” Next time it will be for like 4 days, so we’re slowing building up.

Week 20
It is only the second week in January? It feels like we welcomed 2012 months ago. I shouldn’t complain though. We got a little bit of bad news last week – the at home baby sitter we were hoping to hire had decided to take another position. She was a family friend of ours and the other couple offered more money, so decided to take that position. I’m a little bummed about that. We knew there was a chance that would happen but I really it would work in our favor. For a little while, we were contemplating not hiring her and just going with part-time daycare and 2 days of daddy daycare. I had liked the idea of Anand watching Veer 2 days a week because they would bond and Anand would learn things about Veer too since he doesn’t get too much time with Veer on a daily basis. I think this is for the best. This way Veer will be exposed to other people (like he hasn’t been already. LOL. Four months old and 5 people have already taken care of him) but still have his dad two days a week.

Who's out there?
On a side note… I was looking at the stats for this blog and I know the traffic has increased b/c of my post on pinterest, but I didn’t know the blog had reached international levels. I kid, of course. I know there are people in India and England checking into the blog once in a while, but who in Russia is checking in?! And they are the most after the three obvious ones! Hello? Who's out there?

Week 19
Where did the holidays go? I’m truly not that upset that they are over. I did enjoy them thoroughly. I had 10 days off of work and got to spend most of it with my little man. So much has happened since my last post. The Hunger Ga…err… wait wrong blog. He isn’t spitting up as much as he was about a month ago. He’s starting to flip over more. He hasn’t officially done it on his own yet, but he’s getting there. He must also be teething because he’s constantly biting his fingers. We’ve given him a teether but he likes his fingers the best. Sometime they are red by the end of the day. He’s outgrown most of his outfits now and I’m on round two of packing his clothes away. I’m kinda sad about that because he’s growing up too fast. His hair is coming in; it’s funny to see some long strands that have remained from birth. He kinda reminds me of dad#2 (Anand’s dad). Dad#2 is bald except for the back and side of his head. He has like 5 pieces of hair left on the top of head. He won’t shave that off b/c that’s all that’s remaining on top. So sometimes when I’m playing with Veer’s head/hair – I notice his had like 5 pieces of hair that are longer than the rest and it totally reminds me of dad. I can almost see his future.
