This weekend was one of the best I have had in a long time. On Saturday Veer and I went to Kavita’s house to help her with some yard work. I did the most minimal work possible, not by choice, but because we cannot leave Veer alone. He gets into everything. So anyways, after it being 100 degrees outside, Kavita decided to take Veer in her neighbors pool and from what she told me he loved it. I caught him at the very end of his play time in the pool and here is the little monkey having a grand time in the pool.

Week 42 & Week 43
There is not enough time in the day. I swear. I have no idea
how I don’t have 10 minutes to post. So much has happened since the last time I
blogged. Veer is all over the place now. We have found him under the dining
room table and also under his high chair. Just yesterday he was sitting by
himself in the kitchen while I was out in the living room. For many reasons he
loves the kitchen (mainly b/c I am there and there is a lot of crap on the
floor he can pick and eat). We introduced potatoes to him a couple of weeks ago
and I don’t think he cared for them. I wouldn’t either. I mean I loved mashed
potatoes with butter, seasonings, and salt and pepper. All he gets is bland
potatoes. So far the only spice that I have introduced to him is cinnamon and turmeric.
Did I mention he is a big fan of him puffs now. He recognizes the bottle and
gets excited about them. We took out his blow up duck bath and he loves it. The
first day he was scared of the duck but he loves it now. Last few days we have
noticed he has started to stand on his own for a few seconds. He pulls himself
up on the couch and moves from couch to ottoman, but hasn’t let go of the couch
just yet.

Week 41
So the tooth isn’t completely out yet. It’s still hanging
out in the surface. We have noticed quite a bit of change in Veer. He is very
needy now. He wants to be picked up more often; but when he’s in the mood to play
he does it without care. We have to put him to bed every night now, meaning
take him in our bed until he falls asleep and then transfer him to his crib. If
we try to put him directly in his crib, he cries. It has been a blessing and a
curse for me. I like it because the last few days I go to bed with him and fall
asleep for the night (happy and satisfied me in the AM), but it’s a curse because
Anand is hanging out by himself until he is ready for bed. We’re going to have
to do something about that. He has also started eating his cereal snacks. He picks
up the puff with his finger/hands and puts them in his mouth. He understands that
is a snack and a treat. He gets very excited about it. He still has a little
bit of a gag reflex with the yogurt puffs. I think they are a little bigger and
don’t melt that fast. Maybe in a week he will like them more. We did introduce Greek
yogurt to him last week. Can’t be sure if he likes it or not. And finally he
has been saying the words “mama” this week. And a lot of the time he looks at
me and says “mamamamama”. He also says it when I am not around but I think he
says it because he misses me and wants his “mamamama”. Just sayin’.
