| Veer and I - 1st Mother's day 2012 - New Haven, CT |
The past week has been pretty eventful. Now that Veer is
crawling, our house is a little cleaner than it used to be. I remember a few
months ago I was in a cleaning slump. I didn’t really like to clean too much. I
did the bare minimum. I even had not cleaned the floors for like a month and a
half. Shocked, I know! But with him being on his hands and knees we are forced
to have clean floors. So you know what that mean: clean floors = Veer strolling
thru the house = me happy. This past weekend was Mother’s Day and I had a
wonderful day. Most of the day we hung out at Kavita’s house. We slept over at
Kavita’s house the night before, which meant we got to sleep in Sunday morning
since Veer slept with her that night. In the afternoon around 4 we went to New
Haven for a nice stroll around Yale and then we went out to dinner with Mom,
Dad, Kavita, and masi’s family. Over all it was a nice, relaxing day. The day
before, we attended Aiden’s birthday party in the park. Veer missed most of the
party since he took a nap for a good hour. Veer was so funny at the party. We put
him down on the blanket so he can roll around and play. Very quickly I learned
that he was scared of the grass. It was so funny to watch. The beach ball he
was playing with fell outside of his play area (in the grass) and he was so afraid
to get it because that would mean he would have to leave the blanket. When I lifted
him and teased him by putting him back on the grass, he started crying. Who
knew all kids are afraid of grass initially?!

| Raka, Veer, Kavita - Mother's Day 2012 |
The last two days have been interesting. I think he must be
teething because he pooped like 5-6 times yesterday. That’s like 3-4x more than
his usual poops. He’s also been acting funny when we put him to bed. He cries
and whines a lot. The first two days he suckered us into bringing him back
downstairs but yesterday I finally put my foot down and said we couldn’t bring
him down. We turned the monitor on low and let him cry it out. I told myself if
he’s not asleep in a half hour, I would go and console him. He was asleep
within the half hour.
He started standing up sometime last week too. He knows how
to stand up, but doesn’t know how to sit back down. Pretty soon he’s going to
be running. *sigh*. I sigh because he barely stays put in my arms now, I just
know that cuddles and hugs are going to be a few and far in between.
I have noticed that he is a little obsessed with Anand. He follows
him around at home and gives him the best smiles. I get really good smiles too
but as soon as he sees Anand he just want to play with him. At home when Anand
is around he won’t follow me around. He’ll stay put in the living/dining room
and play. I think I am kinda jealous relieved.
Yes I am running low on backgrounds now. Beggars can't be choosers.
