OH what a week.
I had my monthly meeting this morning and it was interesting. Overall the appt was a good one. The doctor said everything was good and the baby's heartbeat was strong (155). The only concern right now is that I failed my glucose test. They want me to do a 3 hour test soon (test scheduled next Tuesday). I'm a little anxious about the test. IF I fail that test, I would have to go on a strict diet and watch my sugar intake. I didn't realize I was taking in a lot of sugar. Ever since Prashanthi told me she has gestational diabetes, I started checking my sugar at home. I have a sample kit at home that i have been testing for about 3 weeks. i think my sugar was at 91, 111, 101 the three times I tested myself. The doctor said that 50% of the times women fail the second one and I'm hoping I pass it.
I started noticing dry and itcy skin. My belly is not bad, but my neck and chest area is terrible. It looks like I have bug bites. I read online that women get these bug bite types spells and there is an ointment that the doctors can prescribe. What did my doctor do? Tell me to ice it. He said to not scratch because it could get infected. So ice for now.
I recently started thinking about cloth diapers. I haven't spoken with anyone who actually uses them but I think I might want to give it a try. I follow this other blog and the bloggers are big into money saving ideas. They said for them it's a good option. The one they recommend are about $25/diaper. They suggest getting 18 diapers so it will last you about two days before you have to wash them. The only thing that's deterring me is that it's a lot of maintenance. You need to get a special soap to wash them. You have to worry about air drying them. You have to worry about washing them and keeping on top it. We would have to worry about when the baby starts day care, would they use cloth diapers there or would we need disposables ones? It's a tough decision and i think we might go half and half. Use the cloth ones whenever possible, but also use disposable ones. Anyone (other than my mom), try cloth diapers?
We're officially into 3rd trimester starting tomorrow! My appointments are now going to be more frequently. I have to see the doctor in 3 weeks now.

a friend of mine had a baby girl last October, and she looked into the cloth diapers, and likes them a lot. That's all she's using. I'll find out where she got hers from.
