So much happened this weekend. Parul found out accidentally I was expecting. We rang in the New Year with some friends. We told our parents we are expecting. And we told the rest of our family we are expecting yesterday.
NYE was eventful. But before we get into NYE night, let me tell you how Parul found out. She came by our place to pick up a sweater for a wedding on New Years Day (WTF? Why would someone do that? I mean unless it was a family member, I don’t think anyone has the right to take away the first day of the New Year!!). Anyways, I had my What to expect book out on the table and she asked me “Amisha, are you pregnant?” I couldn’t lie because there were many clues in the weeks before that I was pregnant that I thought she picked up on. So I hysterically laughed (out of nervousness) and told her I was. She was shocked because didn’t think I was; she just assumed I had the book to prepare.
Later that night I used my “I’m on a cleanse” excuse to not drink on NYE. Shital jokingly said I was pregnant and that’s why I wasn’t drinking. She slowly (one by one) told everyone I was expecting and that’s why I was not drinking… she was half joking because she didn’t really know I was. Later Dee (her hubby), says I had this pregnancy glow, which I thought was a crock of shit. My face looks the way it did when I was 13. It’s acne central. There is no way there is a pregnancy glow… the only glow you can see is the red mountains on my face. So Dee , thank you but cut the crap. Haha.
So we finally got thru NYE, the next day we went to NJ to tell our parents. I couldn’t wait to tell them, so as soon as we got there, we gave them these photo frames that said “baby picture coming August 2011”. Here is their reaction:
Hiral and Manali were downstairs and heard the commotion, so they came up to this reaction:
I wish I had the chance to tell them on my own, but some things are just outta my control.
Yesterday, we finally told all of Anand’s family, but told them to keep on the DL since we are not telling anyone till like end of Feb or March.
